I have a little saying about the ghost hunters show on Syfy: "All tease, no cheese."
I really don't watch it, but another person in the house has it on all the time, and seems fascinated by their show about nothing. Ghosts that never seem to make any real objective appearance, although the folks on the show definitely seem to think they've seen and recorded something.
I see snippets of it while passing through the room. "Oop, there's something!" The camera is jarred, we instantly go to commercial! Once again, all tease, no cheese.
At this point just seeing the people on it during these snippets is a frightening enough experience for me. I don't like them a bit. If I was a ghost I'd go to wherever they are, wait for them to turn the camera off, then kick the crap out of them.
They must be making a bunch of money on this worthless show. Listening to mutters, murmurs, hisses in the dark. If they're that desperate to make contact with a living entity, how about just sitting down with some actual living people and talk!

Windy Night Tonight
Where I live the wind suddenly popped up and took off a little over an hour ago.
It seemed weird, since I was out and it wasn't that windy. Then I was walking around the house and thought I heard singing, like a ghost singing. And it turned out to be that whistling sound around windows, the door, and those occasional loud whooshes of the wind.
I was just having a discussion about ghosts with some folks the other day. And after being my usual skeptical, dismissive self on the subject, I've been giving it a lot of thought. What if there were ghosts roaming around? If they were reasonable, friendly ghosts, maybe we could get along pretty well. But if they're like on that ghost hunters show on SciFi, biting me on the leg, maybe it wouldn't be so good. I'll be swatting the air trying to disengage their teeth from my leg. Hopefully that won't happen.
For the most part I like the sound of the wind. It stimulates your imagination. And I hope it doesn't blow any trees down.

True Hauntings of America
If you like ghost stories and haunted places, here's a blog worth checking out: Haunts of America.
They've got some kind of flash thing going on there, so it won't allow my computer to copy anything. But the stories look interesting and well-researched.
I saw one on a haunting at a reformatory in Ohio. I was trying to clip a piece, but couldn't do it. It spoke of negative energy in the chapel. Maybe the negative energy has affected the site.
